MY RATING SYSTEM
I believe reviews are for other readers. The book has been published; there is no more that the author can do. With that said, I always strive to be kind to authors and in any criticisms. I believe this is how we grow as human beings. With out further ado as a self proclaimed professional book reviewer because you can be anything you want to be on the internet:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Flawless. I hugged the booked when I finished. Or I was possibly moved to tears. (Yes, this black heart reader!) Maybe I learned something. A book I won’t stop recommending or singing its praises. To the point I may be borderline annoying. I am who I am. Probably stating the obvious, but these are the books that generally make my favorites shelf.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 - Very close to five stars but either something was lacking or a character or situation deducted from five star status. Hey, they can’t all be perfect!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - A really, really, solid read. I find most books fall in this category. I have dubbed myself in the past: The Queen of Four Star Reviews! Sometimes four star books, for me, are absolutely great, but had too a slow of a start for it to make it out of four star territory.
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 - A book that’s better than a three star, but not good enough for a four. I know what you’re thinking . . . Her system is pretty obvious! Book reviewing is a feeling!
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Just okay. I finished it. It was fine. It probably won't be the first book I recommend or talk about. There are plenty of fish in the sea.
⭐️⭐️ - I very rarely read a book under three stars. If I give a book two stars (or 2.5) I only stuck with it because I was reading it for a Book Club OR I paid New.Release.Hardcover.Full.Price. and I’m gonna see it through, damn it!
⭐️ - Have I ever given a one star? I don’t think so. Let’s just call this a Do Not Finish (DNF) rating. And life’s too short for bad books. Or maybe I should say books I don't groove with. Because, let me let you in on a little secret--NOT ALL BOOKS ARE FOR EVERYBODY AND THAT'S OKAY!!! And lets face it, I have a never ending To Be Read (TBR) list!
