Title: Act Your Age, Eve Brown
Author: Talia Hibbert
Publisher: Avon Books
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
Move over Chloe Brown, I think I have a new favorite Brown Sister! Honestly, I love all three of them so much!
Eve Brown felt like such a relatable character. The write up calls her a “hot mess” and maybe she was. But, she just felt so darn real and down to earth. Eve gives everything her all, but still, somehow, life always goes horribly wrong. Raise your hand if you’ve been there!? So she’s decided to stop trying. Including closing shop on her latest job adventure as a wedding planner. That’s the last straw for her parents. They demand she start “acting her age” and cancel her trust fund payments.
Jacob Wayne is always in full control. So, naturally, he doesn’t do “hot mess”. And as a Bed & Breakfast owner he has high expectations and wants to be the best in the industry. So when some purple-haired chick shows up for an interview for the open chef position he tells her the brutal truth: absolutely no freaking chance you’re working for me!
BUT . . . then she accidentally hits him in the parking lot with her car. 🤣😂😭🤪😬 A concussion and a broken arm and suddenly the job is hers. And maybe the rest is history?
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I really enjoyed this one! Eve’s hair, her t-shirt collection, and the way she listened to music! Their witty banter was magic. And spoiler alert 🚨 I freaking loved that the author had autistic characters! Loved!!! As a Mama to a thirteen year old boy with Autism, I just love when this representation is books. I loved that Eve found herself. And Jacob figured out some things along the way too. Pure delight! This one had just the right amount of steam for me too.
These books do not have to be read in order but be sure to read the first book, Get a Life, Chloe Brown and the second book in the series Take a Hint, Dani Brown.
