Beneath A Crescent Shadow Book Review

Title: Beneath a Crescent Shadow

Author: A.L. Sowards

Publisher: Shadow Mountain

Genre: Historical Fiction

Happy Pub Day! Thank you to the publisher + author @a.l.sowards for the #gifted copy of Beneath a Crescent Shadow to read and share. This book had such a cinematic feel to it and I devoured it!

I’ve read quite a few books by this author now and she is quickly becoming a favorite. You can count on a book that is well researched, fully fleshed out and with characters to fall in love with and root for. A bonus for me is they usually bring something to light I didn’t know about.

⚔️The Balkans, 1373

⚔️Bankruptcy

⚔️An arranged marriage to a wealthy bride

⚔️Conquering Ottoman sultan

⚔️Battles & War (Serb Army)

⚔️Faith, Hope & Love

⚔️Overcoming an abusive past

“I wasn’t given a choice, but if I had been, I would have chosen you.”

It may be just me, but this book reminded me of ‘Game of Thrones’ without the fantasy aspects. And I’m not mad about it! Though, this reads as a stand-alone, there is a prequel novella already out and 2 more books coming in 2025 to complete the series. I can’t wait! I highly recommend this book! Out today 6/4 so pick yourself up a copy!
