First things first, thank you so much again to @tandemcollectiveglobal @crownpublishing for the #gifted copy. I really enjoyed our chat group even though I had to mute myself. We were supposed to read 50ish pages a day over a 10 day period and I epically failed. I blew right through this book! It’s that good. Especially the audio that I listened thanks to my friends @prhaudio. It’s dual narrated by Caroline Lee and Geraldine Hakewill; both did a fantastic job with one being in charge of the main character Cherry aka “the Death Lady” chapters and the other doing the voices for all the other characters. There were a lot of characters in this book and each was preformed brilliantly.
Don’t be intimidated by the length of this book, the chapters are short and you will fly through it. The premise will hook you immediately. Picture this… You’ve boarded a quick commuter flight thinking only of today and not at all of the future. But everything changes when there is a delay and an older woman who will later become dubbed “the Death Lady” begins giving everyone on the flight the knowledge of their age and cause of death. That’s enough to freak you out! Some get extremely old ages with natural causes and others get sooner than they would expect with more interesting causes.
What would you think? She’s not of sound mind, right!? However, when things start becoming true a couple months later, this starts to feel like more than just an interesting encounter and story you tell people.
I give this book all the stars! I loved the way it came together. It was worth the journey. It’s extremely thought provoking thinking about our future and if we are living each day to the fullest.
“It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on Earth and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up that we begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it were the only one we had.”
