Title: Business or Pleasure
Author: Rachel Lynn Solomon
Publisher: Berkley
Genre: Romance
This one starts great! You meet Chandler with her cousin Naomi at a bookstore for a book signing. Right away I loved how these cousins felt like best friends! The signing they were at was the latest book that Chandler was a ghostwriter for. A career she didn’t plan for, but one that she needs to pay her bills. When Chandler goes to get her book signed, the influencer she wrote it for doesn’t even realize who she is. Ouch! So Chandler heads to a bar to drown her sorrows and suddenly her night picks up when she meets a charming man. But, it quickly falls flat after the worst and most awkward hookup.
What happens next? You guessed it . . . the next book she ghost writes is for her horrible hookup! Then this is where you have to suspend some belief because her hookup is Finn Walsh a former actor from a cult classic werewolf show. And he does comic con circuits and of course Chandler has to go with him “for the book” and oh yeah, she ends up teaching him how to be better in bed! 🙄
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sorry guys, I just could suspend that much disbelief. And I wasn’t biting on the marketing of this being a refreshing sex-positive book. Despite this being a miss for me, the writing is very good. Also, great representation of OCD and Jewish characters. Both characters had good growth too which is always a positive. I seem to be in the minority on this one, so be sure to check out other reviews on Instagram and Goodreads!
