Title: Cassandra in Reverse
Author: Holly Smale
Publisher: Mira
Genre: Contemporary Fiction + Magical Realism
First and foremost the main character in this book is neurodivergent and that’s something I love to see. Add that with time travel and some greek mythology references and this one was a win!
The book begins one day with a very predictable Cassandra having the rug pulled out from under her. She’s suddenly been dumped by her boyfriend Will, fired from her job, and worst of all there are no banana muffins at her local cafe. But, what happens next is really strange. She discovers she can travel back in time and fix things. So, that’s what she does . . . over and over again. Until Cassie starts to feel wrong about what she’s doing and maybe it isn’t the what she needs anyway.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Okay, a lot of people may not like that the time travel isn’t really explained. But it’s time travel, ya know. On one hand the the going back to fix things will start to feel repetitive, but on the other it makes for great character growth. This is a fun, quick read. I hear the audio is even better!
