✨QOTD: Do you like music fiction books? Have a favorite??
What a breath of fresh air this book was. Such a different take on a romance, but I really liked it. If I had to use one word to describe it, I would say “charming”. It was utterly charming.
Billy Perkins is a happy guy. He has the best job being an independent music teacher, lives in the best city of Baltimore over a record shop, and best of all has a thriving brainiac high school senior son, Caleb. He loves teaching his son all about music. Caleb knows all about his Dad’s favorite band the former Burnt Flowers. And he knows all about his Dad’s crush on the drummer, Margot.
“But, seriously Caleb, watch her play, she’s incredible.”
Caleb becomes worried about going off to college and his Dad being lonely without him, so he decides to contact Margot under a guise of playing at Charm City Rocks. Margot has only recently come back into the spotlight because of a documentary and her record label demands that she goes because she needs to stay relevant if she wants to make a comeback. When Billy and Margot meet…its music!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Disclaimer: I am originally from the Baltimore area, so I loved, loved, loved at the Baltimore references in this book. For that alone I was sucked into this one. But, I also really love music books and these characters truly were music together. I also thought this story was unique focusing on the romance from the male side and because it was an older couple.
