🎄Christmas on Jane Street 🎄
After reading Mary Kay Andrew’s Bright Lights, Big Christmas and finding out she met with this author while writing her book, I had to finally pull this one off my shelf. I bought it at a used book store awhile ago! It first published in 1998 and this is the ten year anniversary copy.
Christmas on Jane Street is a sweet, thoughtful and heartwarming story about Billy Romp, his wife Patti and their three children. They come from Vermont every year and sell Christmas trees on a lot in Greenwich Village between 8th Avenue and Jane St. This particular year Billy struggles with his tomboy daughter, Ellie, changing and pulling away from him and what he visioned for her path in life.
“I’ve always known I should let you be your own person and pursue your dreams. But, in my heart, I felt that if you went places I wasn’t going, you were leaving me behind.”
Only 150 pages and is just right for this late season in December when you start to feel like you’ve hit a wall. It brings you back to what’s important!
*This is a non-fiction true story!
