—Book Review— Title: Forever, Interrupted Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid Publisher: Washington Square Press/Atria @atriabooks Genre: Contemporary Fiction
This is the year. The year I finally finish all of TJR off of my shelf. After this one, I only have: Maybe In Another Life, Carrie Soto, and that Amazon novella. Anyway…
I read this one in one sitting. It’s binge-able. It’s heartbreaking, but full of hope.
Elsie and Ben are delightfully adorable. What a couple. They meet and have a whirlwind romance; some may even say it’s a supernova, and after 5 months elope. Only 9 days after they marry, Ben is killed riding his bike.
What follows is Elsie meeting her MIL who knew nothing about her and a back and forth story between present day healing and their past tense dating; intersecting magically like only TJR can do!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I loved Ben and Elsie, but the side characters were just okay in this one. Eventually the MIL came around, but I strongly disliked Elsie’s parents and her best friend was just okay. I loved that Elsie was a librarian and the old man she became friends with! I, of course, recommend this one for fans of this author and contemporary fiction.
