In The Shadow Garden

—Book Review—

Title: in the Shadow Garden

Author: Liz Parker

Publisher: Forever

Genre: Women’s Fiction Fantasy

đŸ’« Bourbon

đŸ’« Magic

đŸ’« Secrets

I wanted a little time spent on the second chance romance subplot, but otherwise in the Shadow Garden surprised me in the best possible way. I purchased this one totally on a whim because of the pretty cover and mention of magic and it delivered.

The witches of the Haywood family are known for their shadow garden. Hello strawberries that taste like chocolate or how about tomatoes infused with basil and oregano. They can cure heartaches and have partnered with the Bonner family to bring a special quality to their local bourbon distillery. One one special day a year a shot of Bonner bourbon will make your worst memory disappear. How wild is this!?!

But one summer twenty years ago the town somehow gave up more than just a memory they gave up the whole summer. One person died. One person disappeared and no one remembers what happened.

But as things start to come to light, untangling these two family rivals is like deep roots in a garden.

Rating: âïžâïžâïžâïžđŸ’« I really, really enjoyed this one. Binge read for me. Honestly, the only reason this isn’t a five star is because I felt like the romantic subplot wasn’t really given enough attention. It just kind of resolved and was pushed aside.
