You guys! I committed a book faux pas. I read Mistletoe & Mr. Right, the second book in the “Moose Springs, Alaska series” before I read the first book The Tourist Attraction. Now, you don’t need to read them in order, but I think I would have been better connected to the characters if I did. Live and learn!

Some books it takes you a bit to be interested in. And some books have you from the the first line. Mistletoe & Mr. Right is the latter. The opening line is about a penis being drawn in the snow! No, really. Hilarious, right!?

Lana Montgomery is a rich socialite outsider who has big dreams to transform the small Alaskan town of Moose Springs into something even better. The locals of Moose Springs are a tight knit group and are determined to run her out of town for good. Well everyone, but Rick, who has a crush on Lana.

Things I liked:

🏔 The setting. Well, sort of. I lived in Alaska for 3 glorious years and miss it so much! And I’m here to tell you that Christmas in Alaska is COLD. I’m talking negative DANGEROUS temperatures. You literally have to plug in your car so the engine doesn’t freeze. There is no way your sleeping in your car because dead stuffed squirrels at a B&B scare you. A B&B you’re stuck at because it’s snowing and the roads are dangerous!

🏔 I adored Rick. Who doesn’t love a man who steps up to the plate in the time of a tragedy to take care of his ex-wife’s nephew. Plus, he is an animal lover!

🏔 I loved all the secondary characters. I need to read The Tourist Attraction ASAP. And I have no excused because I own it on my shelf!

🏔 This book is LOL funny!

Things I didn’t like:

❄️ The plot of trying to capture a moose was just silly. And frankly dangerous. Moose trample people to death!

❄️ I wanted more romance in this! Lana and Rick’s chemistry was ‘eh’.

❄️ Lana immediately calling Rick ‘dearest’ was annoying. Yes, I’m nit picking.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 All in all funny and an enjoyable read. Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the eARC in exchange for my opinion.
