Raise you hand 🙋♀️ if you suffer from the post holiday blues? Well, if that’s you and your January is feeling a little cold and blah, then I have the perfect book for you: Recipe for a Charmed Life by Rachel Linden. This book made me so gosh darn happy! It felt like a wam hug. But make no mistake . . . it is not all sunshine and roses. This one is full of family drama, secrets, and a wonderful late coming of age story for our 30 year old main character, Georgia.
What else can you expect?
🤤 Hunger! Georgia is a sous-chef and the food descriptions in this are enough to make you drool!
✈️ Travel envy. Georgia lives in Paris, but after a cheating boyfriend and some retaliation is forced to go on a vacation and picks a PNW island to reconnect with her Mama.
🍀 Whimsy feeling. Georgia, her mother, and each of the female members of the family all have a special magical gift.
👩🍳 Fan of Julia Child? She’s Georgia’s mentor and I loved all the quotes! If you’ve never made Julia’s Beef Bourguignon you should!
❤️ Romance! Just who is the recluse that Georgia has hit it off with on the island!?
🛋️ Cozy. It just invokes a cozy feeling.
I loved the pace that this one moved a long. And really enjoyed each of the characters. I really liked the message of living your dreams and it’s okay to reevaluate your life. My only quibble was at times it felt like too many secrets. However, to be fair, the miscommunication trope isn’t my favorite. Definitely pick up this scrumptious read! PS - It includes 2 recipes (love that!).
