Title: The Love Hypothesis
Author: Ali Hazelwood
Publisher: Berkley
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
Hey guys! Have I got a review for you just in time for the weekend. One that you will want to spend your weekend bingeing. Infact, that’s exactly what I did last Saturday!
The Love Hypothesis. Have you heard of it!? I kid. Ok, so this one has been all over booksta, and rightfully so. To be honest with you, when I saw it as a selection for @bookofthemonth it wasn’t really on my radar. I had heard some rumblings that the fabulous duo Christina Lauren had recommended this one. But that was really it. I decided to give it a shot because I wanted to order some ad-ons. Well, I’m so glad that I did. If you didn’t snag this one, make sure you order this one in October!!!
Olive is a third year Ph.D student and Adam is a young hotshot professor. Olive doesn’t do relationships, despite her best friend Anh urgings. So to convince Anh that Olive is dating she panics and kisses the first guy she sees; which happens to be Adam. Oops!
Adam is trying to convince Stanford he isn’t leaving and for them to give him more grant research money. So he agrees to secretly fake date Olive. If he has a girlfriend surely the department won’t think he is leaving and being recruited by another university. And Olive is glad to have Anh off her back.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 You had me a Pumpkin Spice Latte. This book is fabulous. Two witty smart scientists. And emphasis on woman in STEM. I was ready to read this one again as soon as I finished! The only reason it wasn’t a five star for me is because fake dating is not my favorite trope. I always feel like the reasoning is flimsy. 🤷♀️
