Nevaeh is a hair stylist trying to make her big break on hollywood film sets. For now she works, at a salon and odds & ends jobs here and there. One of those jobs is hair care for actor Lamont Booker’s mother who is recovering from cancer and the havoc chemo did on her. Nevaeh adores Ms. Rosie, so when she comes one week for their standing appointment and she’s sick, she won’t take no for an answer to making her a pot of soup. When Lamont comes home and graciously helps Nevaeh out the door with her heavy hair supply case she trips falls into his arms. A paparazzi catches a pictures and it sets off a chain of events to them dating to save his born again Christian reputation.

I adored and really connected to these characters. I loved watching their relationship develop. I’m a sucker for good secondary character the text messages Lamont had with his bros were gold. Those were some sexy men! I also loved how sweet of a friendship Nevaeh had with her neighbor.
“It’s why fashion is my passion. I’m convinced there’s something we can all wear, look good in, and not have to be subjected to society’s ideals on impossible standards.”
The author knocked it out of the park with Nevaeh wanting to be in haircare to make people feel like their best selves. As a less confident character in her size she also put people around her who saw her true beauty and helped her to see it too. Really well done.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Excellent pacing and character development. If you are looking for a modern christian romance look no further. This is an author I will seek out to read again, for sure.
